My grandparents lived in the Shawaka district of Baghdad. From them I heard stories of old Baghdad. The original of this painting is by the artist Ramzi Jawad. And he came from this area itself. The picture depicts the life in that area before the 1950’s. It was sent to us by an Iraqi traveler.
