Photograph of a Cat

I bought this Blue Persian cat in London after I graduated from university in 1966, and took it with me to Baghdad. I paid £5 for his passage. And I used to take him with me wherever I went in Baghdad. He got used to life in Iraq. The food he loved best was cucumber, melon and dates. And I called him Sargon, the name of the Akkadian king. This picture was taken in the house of Kamil Al Chadirchi by Kamil himself, because he liked cats. (Kamil Al Chadirchi was a politician who loved photography and took many pictures of Iraqi life in the 1920’s and 30’s) My cat Sargon was exceptionally stupid.
